Feed control valve can be placed either meter-out or meter-in? Can anyone tell me which one is more preferable at diff. application? And specialy for machine tool and press application which one is preferable? thanks!

Meter out control us usually the most stable, but meter out control on the rod end can be tricky. You need to make sure that the bore to rod ratio will not cause excessive pressure intensification.
That is a very general answer, it really depends on your system. You may want to consider using a counterbalance valve on the rod side and meter in throttle while extending. What is the application? What type of pump, what type of control system etc...?

It's a machine tool applications. Pump is vane type(12lpm). I found in most of applications meter out arrangements are used. what is the reason behind it? and for which applications meter in arrangements are preferable? Thanks
